OF HISTORY

Grandma Ginetta and grandfather Arcangelo: the origins of Villa Maiella. Even today many still remember them, and have not forgotten the work that began in the restaurant opened at the end of the 1960s.

Thanks to them and the sacrifices made over all these years, today Villa Maiella is not just a restaurant where you can eat, but a place where you can listen to and experience a story. The story of all of us. That is because Villa Maiella would not be the same (perhaps it wouldn’t even be) without our grandparents who laid their first, fundamental, deep roots here.

What is Villa Maiella? “Trippa, snails and sagne (Abruzzo’s typical homemade pasta) with beans“, in the words of Nonna Ginetta.

Farm and Territory

Our farm stands along the ridges just outside Guardiagrele. Born a few years ago as an amateur passion of the Tinari family, today it combines the cultivation of vegetables and noble flours with the semi-wild breeding of the certified breed of black pig from Abruzzo.

These two activities allow us to use our own crops to feed the pigs.
For us, “living the land” is work, passion and pride.

The territory that surrounds us and the human relationship that binds us to local producers is fundamental for us and goes hand in hand with the professional one. The local earth artisans are faithful companions on our journey, and we always like to remember this.

Not only a restaurant, but also a hotel. Being able to enjoy the best experience between taste and nature by staying a stone’s throw from the Maiella in the heart of the Park.
The pleasure of waking up early in the morning, treating yourself to a sweet breakfast and then a mountain bike ride or an excursion.

Angela, together with Antonella, takes care of the pastry shop and all our leavened products every day with love and passion.
